MOUNTING FABRIC GRAPHICS WITH T3SYSTEMS

How T3 allows for easier creation of tension fabric displays.

The initial T3 conception was that the framework would allow for these exhibition stands and event displays to be created more efficiently and with greater versatility. It was meant to allow designers to create a diverse range of eye catching and purpose built displays that would allow even non-experienced exhibition and event staff to build these displays with a simple TWIST – LOCK – CONNECT.

T3 capitalised on this area and create solutions with some unique features…

  • Tool free assembly means that large, dynamic structures require less resources to assemble. Fewer assembly team members are required for less time, making it extremely cost effective.
  • Modular, lightweight design means that it can be packed into compact, easy to manoeuvre travel cases. This saves on storage, transportation and drayage costs another big bonus.
  • Easy customisation of the product allows for the frameworks to be designed that match graphic designs and measurements. This allows me limitless design versatility.

But, at the centre of the reasoning for creation was that there was a huge potential for a framework that could allow for a broad range of graphics to be used a few simple adjustments to the framework. T3 was created out of this necessity. So with this in mind we focus on one of the most popular and upcoming graphic types being used with the event and exhibition industry and how T3 can be used as the ultimate framework system for this need.

What are tension fabric graphics?

In the exhibition industry trends, fabric graphics are arguably the most popular when it comes to cladding your exhibition stands and displays.

Tension fabric is a highly durable printed fabric with a silicon edge sewn onto the outside edges of the print. The printed fabric is then stretched out over a rigid modular framework to meet the edges where it is then inserted into a channel of the framework. In some cases the fabric graphic is finished with a Velcro hoop edge which is then mounted onto the opposing Velcro hook on the rigid modular framework.

There are different variations of fabric available for tension fabric displays, with options for back-lit and non-illuminated graphics, as well as dye-sublimated & UV printing methods for different finishes to artwork.

The increased popularity of this substrate can be attributed to a few reasons.

  • Is due to it being lightweight, it is an ideal graphic type to ship and store.
  • Fabric graphics can be rolled or folded meaning that it takes up minimal space for storage or transportation.
  • Easy mounting and application to a modular framework. Making it ideal when event designers and exhibition contractors are short on time with an install.
  • Eye popping appeal. Using fabric means that the printing can be end to end and the colour and line work can be exceptional when it comes to complex designs.
  • Printers are becoming more and more capable of large scale graphics. Meaning that only one or two graphics are required for large light walls or backdrops, whereas roll up requires a lot more panels.

T3 Systems has a variety of solutions that allows for the design and creation of structures that are ideal for tension fabric graphics. From the creation of exhibition stands, to event and conference backdrops and pop up counters and POS displays cladding these with tension fabric graphics is a breeze.

We will be focusing on the T3 Frame solution and how it accommodates tension fabric with sewn in silicon edging and what types of structures you are able to create with this modular framework.

There are three main methods to fitting silicon edged fabric graphics to the T3 Frame modular system.

Pop up displays and counters

Cladding structures like bars, counters and point of sale units can be done by using two of our profiles; namely the Silverlite and Silverlite 45°. Each allows for a variety of features to be integrated into the design. Using the Silverlite 45° allows for clean edges and unbroken corners to be created. The Silverlite profile with its internal corner allows for visual cavities to be integrated. This is ideal for product display units and storage areas. Lastly both these profiles are unobtrusive and allow for a variety of shelving solutions to be included in the displays.

Multiple panelled displays

Sometimes graphic panels serve different purposes, are comprised of different materials or have different event lifespans. Therefore printing content on the same graphic is in-efficient. The solution; having segmented panels that can be mounted onto the same structure and removed easily. The T3 Frame solution for this purpose comes in the form of the Comb profile and its various infills. It allows for two or more graphics to be mounted on the same framework with an unbroken finish. A comb profile can be coupled with the Silverlite and Silverlite 45° profiles on the edges of the display to create efficient and eye catching features.

Long Illuminated light walls

With printers becoming more efficient at creating large, singular textile graphics having a modular framework that can match the size and shape of the graphic is becoming a much needed option. Using the T3 Frame as the structural framework allows you to create large unsegmented structures that can match the height and length of any graphic. Ideally suited for these projects are the Silverlite and Silverlite 45° solutions.

Curved structures

One of the most unique selling points of the T3 Frame modular framework is in its’ ability to be curved to standard or custom angles. This provides designers with the opportunity to create some hugely distinctive displays for all events. What is more about this opportunity is that all of our fabric mounting solutions can be curved to meet any angle of the extrusion. This means that you are not limited to only using PVC Roll up or semi rigid panels to clad your display.

Experiential Displays

Being able to clad your experiential displays in fabric materials is one of the biggest bonuses. Often these types of displays require specific graphic types such as green screens, projection materials or require a branding graphic and a functional graphic. Using the T3 Frames’ fabric profiles allows you to use and mount these various graphics types onto the same structure with ease.
